Maersk establishes its first own warehouse in Croatia

Maersk has announced the opening of its first own multi-customer warehouse in Croatia, located less than 20 kilometers from the port of Rijeka.

The new warehouse is a 12,000 m² facility and is now part of Maersk’s global network of 473 warehouses.

The facility became operational with global retail brand Maersk & Spencer as its first customer.

“We are very proud to launch our first own warehouse and enhance our logistics offering on the Croatian market. Our strategy of providing integrated logistic solutions gets further reaffirmed and we look forward to the new opportunities this will bring to our customers,” said Ivić Vodopija, East Adriatic and Central Europe Country Manager at Maersk.

The new warehouse is a Class A type, with high security standards and is designed to minimise greenhouse gas emissions with the use of features like solar roofs or LED lights reducing energy consumption.

Furthermore, the facility has a flexible pallet capacity and offers end-to-end solutions including Customs services, as well a wide range of additional value-adding services available.

The new facility became operational on 17 July, welcoming Marks & Spencer as first customer.
