Maersk gets “Alexander Maersk” back

The Maersk group paid a high price to obtain the liberation of its container ship Alexander Maersk on September 28 following its arrest in the port of Sfax on September 8. According to information, the world’s number one container shipping group, was obliged to pay all the €8 million compensation demanded by the seven Tunisian clients behind the vessel’s arrest. The claims were essentially connected with a major fire which broke out aboard another Maersk vessel, the Maersk Honam, last March.
