Maersk Line has announced changes in its Red Sea and Mediterranean Sea services. The Danish shipping company will replace services from and into Sokhna to the Red Sea ports, modifying the service rotation.
New service rotation:
Jeddah – Aqaba – King Abdullah – Jeddah – Sokhna – Jeddah
The new rotation is planned to call the port of Sokhna on 27 April 2020.
With the new port calls, Maersk says it will offer a stronger Middle East coverage, extending better transit time from/to Far East with lesser transhipment port calls, thanks to the superior connectivity with King Abdullah Port.
Furthermore, Maersk wants to improve its schedule reliability, consolidating its Mediterranean services at Port Said East. The Port Said West call will be discontinued as of 26 April 2020. The last Port Said West call will be Maersk Karlskrona on 19 April 2020.
The revised service rotation:
Port Tangier – Algeciras – Valencia – Fos sur Mer -Genoa Vado Liguere – Port Said East – Jeddah – Salalah – Jebel Ali – Dammam – Al Jubayl – Abu Dhabi – Jebel – Ali – Salalah – Jeddah – Port Said East – Port Tangier
The carrier said that it has enhanced its trucking service delivery in order to streamline connectivity to the Suez Canal Container Terminal (SCCT) of Port Said East.
