Maersk updates services to face ports’ disruptions and congestions

Maersk has announced changes in its services in order to face delays, disruptions and congestions at various ports across the world.

The Danish carrier has decided to reset the schedule for the TA3 service in order to address the delays on its North Europe to/from North America network caused by a continuous disruption in North Europe and US ports.

Additionally, Maersk has made adjustments to its TP Alaska service in order to face the unprecedented market situation on the US West Coast with severe port congestion slowing down supply chains and cargo delivery across various ports.

In response to these challenges, Maersk will add vessels and rationalise the port coverage to provide a more stable service with improved schedule reliability.

TP Alaska will now offer direct coverage from Shanghai & Yantian into Tacoma with weekly capacity while continuing to offer the same westbound coverage from Dutch Harbor into North-East Asia on fortnightly basis, according to a company’s announcement.

The new TP Alaska port roation will be Shanghai – Yantian – Tacoma – Dutch Harbor – Yokohama – Busan – Qingdao – Shanghai – Yantian – Tacoma with the calls at Dutch Harbor, Yokohama, Busan and Qingdao being bi-weekly.
