Major lines unveil December blank sailings

THE Alliance carriers has annoinunced its December service cancellations that it says will match the fluctuating demand of the global shipping market and respond to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and the second round of lockdown in significant countries around the world.

The carriers in THE Alliance, Hapag-Lloyd, Yang Ming, Ocean Network Express (ONE) and HMM, will make the following service adjustments:

Asia and North Europe
FP1, FP2, FE2, and FE3 will maintain weekly sailings in December, except for in the following week:

Week 49 – FP2 void

THE Alliance will continue to operate the FE4 Extra Loader Program in December. The respective lines will separately provide advice regarding participation in the Extra Loader Program.

Asia and the Mediterranean
MD1, MD2 and MD3 will maintain their weekly sailings in December, except for in the following week:

Week 51 – MD3 void

Transpacific – West Coast
All PSW (including India leg for PS3) and PNW loops will maintain their weekly sailings in December.

Transpacific – East Coast
All USEC loops will maintain their weekly sailings in December, except for in the following weeks:

Week 50 – EC3 void

Week 52 – EC3 void

Asia – Middle East
AG1 will remain merged with AG3, the AG2 and AG3 will maintain all sailings in December.

Transatlantic
All transatlantic loops will maintain their weekly sailings in December, except for in the following weeks:

Week 50 – AL4 void

Week 53 – AL1, AL4 void

Furthermore, Maersk has announced changes in its PNG Express service which follows the ensuing port rotation: Tanjung Pelepas, Port Moresby, Noro Port, Lae, Wewak, Madang, Tanjung Pelepas.

The vessel Haddock v.045S/047N will now be a blank sailing, while at this stage, the next sailing will be on the Contship Way v.048S/049N with the following dates:

  • Port Moresby – ETA: 06/12 ETD: 07/12
  • Port Noro – ETA: 11/12 ETD: 12/12
  • Lae – ETA: 15/12 ETD: 16/12
  • Wewak – ETA: 18/12 ETD: 19/12
  • Madang – ETA: 20/12 ETD: 21/12

“We are currently looking into options to minimise disruption to your supply chain,” said the Danish carrier in its announcement.
