Manta Marine Technologies introduces new leadership team

Manta Marine Technologies, formerly known as Yara Marine Technologies (YMT), has unveiled its new brand and leadership team following its recent acquisition by Geneva-based Okapi Supply Trading Advisory SA.

These changes signify a fresh chapter for the company, which aims to broaden its existing customer relationships and robust product portfolio to aid the maritime industry in achieving its goals of reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

“I am confident that Manta Marine Technologies, with Ina at the helm of its new leadership team, will continue to excel at advancing sustainable solutions for the maritime industry,” stated new owner, Mohamed J. Ndao and CEO of Okapi Supply Trading Advisory SA.

Leading the Manta Marine Technologies team as CEO is Ina Reksten, who previously held the positions of Deputy CEO and Chief Operating Officer. Dr. Thomas Koniordos, the outgoing CEO, has been appointed chair of the Board, while Aleksander Askeland, the former chief Sales Officer, will assume the role of CFO, and Richard Engelhart Bjercke will take on the position of CCO.

According to a statement, Manta Marine Technologies will showcase its array of products and services on its newly launched website. These offerings include the FuelOpt propulsion optimization system, the Fleet Analytics performance management and reporting system, the RoutePilot AI cloud-based AI-powered ship operation support system, and shore power installations for vessels.

Notably, FuelOpt also facilitates wind-assisted propulsion, optimizing power usage and recording fuel performance for vessels equipped with sails, rotors, kites, and wings.

Mohamed J. Ndao pointed out, “All our products, such as FuelOpt and shore power solutions, are well known for their ability to help make vessels greener. Our new team will build on this success and ensure that we help our sector move closer towards a low and zero carbon future.”
