Marlink, a smart network and ICT solutions provider, has inked a strategic collaboration with NORMA Cyber to increase its clients’ cyber security intelligence and resilience.
The Norwegian Maritime Cyber Resilience Centre (NORMA Cyber) is a collaboration between the Norwegian Shipowners’ Association and risk insurance provider Den Norske Krigsforsikring (DNK) for Skib.
The membership of NORMA Cyber includes 420 Norwegian shipowners and operators who handle 3,400 ships, drilling rigs, and other mobile assets.
Marlink is the first vendor of its kind to collaborate with NORMA to offer a supplementary service to their shared customers.
Furthermore, Marlink can provide an extra layer of cyber expertise tailored to government-graded criteria by combining the NORMA Cyber knowledge base with its own cyber security portfolio.
Marlink’s cyber solutions are designed to provide security against numerous threat vectors. Its Endpoint Security technology prevents unauthorised data from accessing ship systems, allowing users to transmit and receive only permitted data for each network component.
Its Unified Threat Management (UTM) service delivers network-level policies and regulations for traffic separation and complex firewall settings to safeguard communications channels across multiple networks, securing crew and business traffic.
Marlink said its CyberGuard Threat Detection, which is now implemented onboard over 1,000 ships worldwide, helps ship operators to improve their analysis and reaction to cyber threats while also ensuring compliance with the most recent legislation and quality systems.
