Marlink Group expands cyber security capabilities with Port-IT acquisition

Marlink announced the acquisition of 100% ownership in Port-IT, a maritime cyber security solution provider. This move follows Marlink’s recent integration of Diverto, enhancing its capabilities in cyber security professional and managed services within the Marlink Group.

Positioned strategically in Rhoon, Netherlands, Port-IT benefits from proximity to key ports like Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and Antwerp, offering round-the-clock support from its Security Operations Centres in Rhoon and Bangkok to a fleet of 7,000 vessels.

Marlink Group plans to establish a specialized cyber security unit by merging the expertise of Port-IT, Diverto, and its own operations.

This unit will consist of 130 professionals with top-tier cyber security certifications and extensive experience across the maritime, energy, humanitarian, and critical infrastructure sectors.

The unit will also operate four Security Operations Centres across Europe, Asia, and the Americas.

Erik Ceuppens, CEO of Marlink Group, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, highlighting the growing need for cyber security expertise to meet the IT and OT challenges of their global clientele.

The cyber security unit will provide expert support to Marlink Group’s maritime, energy and humanitarian businesses, while leveraging the global reach and innovation capabilities of the group.
