Matson launches new China – California service

Matson has announced the introduction of its new China-California Express (CCX) service, the company’s third expedited Transpacific service.

The US shipping line aims to offer expedited service into Northern California during this period of extraordinary demand, while also supplementing its capacity into Long Beach.

The CCX service launched on 27 July from the Port of Ningbo in China and will call the ports of Shanghai – Oakland – Long Beach – Honolulu and Ningbo again.

The service will depart three of every five weeks from China, while Matson has published that direct sailing from Shanghai to Oakland will need 12 days ocean transit time and Ningbo to Oakland 14 days. Furthermore, Shanghai to Long Beach will need 15-day ocean transit time and Ningbo to Long Beach 17 days.

Additionally, chassis will be provided (trucker to pay a daily fee) unless flip to own wheels requested, according to Matson’s announcement.

The new CCX expedited service, which commenced with the 1,994TEU Mokihana, is scheduled to operate until Lunar New Year 2022.
