Mawani enhances Jeddah Islamic Port’s capabilities

The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) and the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority (ZATCA) signed a service-level agreement (SLA) to regulate joint activities as well as establish and execute service-level operations and automation mechanisms at Jeddah Islamic Port.

The goal of the agreement is to optimise efficiency, increase productivity and improve the customer experience at the port.

The deal, which will soon be rolled out to other ports, will additionally be instrumental in supporting the import and export platform, Fasah.

According to a statement, the latest agreement comes as part of Mawani’s efforts to improve the business environment of Saudi ports and realise its strategic objectives of facilitating trade and achieving customer satisfaction.

New road extensions at Jeddah Islamic Port

At the same time, Mawani in collaboration with the Emirate of Makkah Province, officially opened the new Gate 9 expansion at Jeddah Islamic Port after the rehabilitation of the western road of Aramco Refinery’s western road.

This move is expected to improve operational efficiency of the port using sustainable development standards, while offering best-in-class services to enhance the customer experience.

Notably, the project will help increase the average truck exit rate from 3,600 to 8,000 vehicles per day, as well as reduce the transit time between Jeddah Islamic Port and Al Humra Warehouse from 40 to 25 minutes.
