Medkon Lines acquires its largest boxship

Turkish container shipping company Medkon Lines has bought the largest boxship in its 14-year history, acquiring the 2,011 TEU Nordic Anna from Nordic Hamburg, according to Alphaliner.

The transaction price has not been known yet.

Medkon Lines is currently operating a fleet of 15 container ships, with its previous largest vessel being the 1,162 TEU Medkon Mira.

Nordic Anna, which was built in 2007, has now been renamed Med Star.
