Meridian Port Services, Portchain automate schedule updates for streamlined berth process

Two years after implementing Portchain Connect, Meridian Port Services (MPS) continues to refine its berth alignment processes with shipping lines.

Through a successful integration, Portchain now provides MPS with automatic berth schedule updates, enhancing efficiency and coordination with carrier customers. By leveraging Portchain Connect, MPS improves the accuracy and speed of berth alignment through digital handshakes and secure data exchange.

Portchain supports MPS in streamlining communication and optimizing berth planning. With Portchain Connect, MPS receives real-time schedule and move count updates directly from carrier systems, enabling faster responses and counterproposals to align vessel schedules with terminal berth plans.

According to a statement, Portchain Connect accelerates the alignment of berthing windows by facilitating seamless schedule data exchange. The platform enables terminals and carriers to share high-quality data, reducing delays in information transmission.

It provides users with a clear, user-friendly view of all vessel calls, ensuring secure berthing information transfers while eliminating costs associated with manual, non-digital communication. By enhancing schedule reliability, Portchain Connect helps terminals and carriers align berthing windows more efficiently.

“Portchain’s commitment to data collaboration aligns perfectly with our goal to improve overall supply chain visibility, ensuring everyone involved can make informed decisions,” stated Mohamed Samara, CEO of MPS.
