The 13,870TEU container ship Milano Bridge, owned by Mi Das Line SA has collided with a gantry crane at Busan Port, South Korea, which caused the collapse of the crane, earlier today.
Initial reports of the accident do not indicate any casualties. However, at least two trucks can be seen just avoiding the collapsing crane in the nick of time. The vessel is understood to have just left drydock for repairs following a collision with another vessel some months ago.
Milano Bridge had been operated by K-Line and was understood to be leaving the area to restart operations following the repairs in dry dock.
The vessel was built at Imabari in Japan and was delivered to owners in 2018.
