The 5,100 TEU MOL Emissary, serving on THE Alliance’s Trans-Atlantic 5 (AL5) service, faced rudder issues on 6 December, while awaiting to berth at the Port of Los Angeles.
The vessel operator, Ocean Network Express (ONE) announced on 14 December that MOL Emissary was assisted by the tugboat to move into inner anchorage in Los Angeles for further inspection before its berthing. According to the ship tracking provider, Marine Traffic, the boxship is now moored at the Port of Los Angeles.
“All reefer units onboard are working and are being monitored regularly,” noted ONE.
The Singaporean container line said that it is currently waiting for the vessel owner’s assessment of the vessel condition and will advise further regarding its schedule and cargo arrangements once more information is available.
The 2009-built Panamax container ship is owned by Seaspan Corporation.
