Marine Repair Services – Container Maintenance Corporation (MRS-CMC), a supplier of intermodal services, has expanded its depot in Dallas, United States from 60,000 m² to more than 100,000 m² meters.
The Marino Group’s company said that it has bought the site, which is less than 1.6 kilometres from the Union Pacific Dallas Intermodal Terminal, while the company has been leasing the original depot property since 2016.
MRS-CMC has deployed a second industrial load lift to assist its increasing container storage programme, which was implemented last year to help ease port congestion.
In addition to container storage, MRS-CMC serves the Dallas market by repairing and maintaining chassis, trailers, and containers, as well as redistributing intermodal equipment.
“Our Dallas depot is in an ideal location — less than a mile from the Union Pacific Dallas Intermodal Terminal and across the street from Schneider and Amazon distribution centres, which offers convenience to our customers,” noted David Miller, director of Southwest and Mid-South operations, MRS-CMC.
Furthermore, Dallas/Fort Worth has a robust intermodal system, with access to three major railroads (Union Pacific, Burlington Northern Santa Fe, and Kansas City Southern) and three major interstate highways (I-35, I-20 & I-45). The Union Pacific Dallas Intermodal Terminal connects the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach in California.
Miller added, “Our loaded container storage solution continues to ease congestion at the rails in the Dallas/Fort Worth market. Adding a second industrial load lift facilitates swift movement of import-loaded and export-loaded containers, which adds efficiency and saves our customers time and money,”
