The world’s largest container carrier MSC has decided to enhance its Sentosa-Shikra pendulum service.
The service, which is operated solely by the Swiss/Italian line, will now include a port call at Karachi in Pakistan, providing direct service between Asia, Pakistan and the US West Coast.
The updated port rotation will be Port Klang (Malaysia) – Singapore – Laem Chabang (Thailand) – Vung Tau (Vietnam) – Busan (South Korea) – Los Angeles (US) – Oakland (US) – Busan – Qingdao (China) – Shanghai (China) – Ningbo (China) – Shekou (China) – Singapore – Colombo (Sri Lanka) – Mundra (India) – Karachi (Pakistan) – Nhava Sheva (India) – Colombo – Port Klang.
The first vessel operating on the updated rotation will be the 13,100 TEU MSC Altair, expected to arrive at the port of Busan on 22 December.
MSC believes the updated port rotation of the Sentosa-Shikra pendulum service will open new business opportunities and improve interconnectivity and transit times between Southeast Asia, China, India, Pakistan and the US West Coast.
