MSC adds Seattle port call on Chinook service

The global container carrier Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) will upgrade the rotation of its Chinook service, which links China with the United States, adding the port of Seattle.

“We will extend the coverage of the US by adding a call in Seattle, to increase much-needed capacity into the US market,” said the Geneva-based shipping line, which added that this schedule revision complements MSC’s Rose service, which also calls at the Port of Seattle.

The 13,100TEU MSC Margit will be the first ship, deployed on Chinook service, that will call at the Port of Seattle. The vessel will start its sailing from the Port of Yantian in China on 28 December.
