MSC announces rate increases in Europe

The largest container line in the world Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) has announced the implementation of new Freight All Kinds (FAK) rates in Europe, effective from 1 March but not beyond 31 March.

MSC will set a FAK rate increase from the Italian ports of Genoa and La Spezia to Montreal and Vancouver in Canada, as well as to the Mexican ports of Veracruz and Ensenada.

This increase of US$1,000 per container, will be applied in all 20′, 40′ dry van (DV) and high cube (HC) boxes, forming the new prices as follows:

In addition, the global ocean carrier will push up its FAK rates for cargoes from the Indian ports of Nhava Sheva, Ennore, and Kolkata, as well as the Port Qasim in Pakistan, to the Port of Antwerp in Belgium.

The updated prices that will be set in all 20′, 40′ DV, HC and high cube reefer (HR) containers, will be the following:
