The Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) has announced the launch of its Golden Horn service, which will complement its existing intra-Asia network, linking China, Korea and the east Russian coast, from week 34.
The Golden Horn is a weekly service that will connect the largest container terminal in eastern Russia, Vostochniy, with the biggest container ports in China and South Korea.
“With the Golden Horn, MSC customers will benefit from one of the most important rail gateways linking the Far East to Europe via Vladivostok,” said the Swiss-based carrirer in its announcement.
The 1,804TEU boxhsip MSC Nora will be deployed on the first sailing with an estimated time of arrival in Shanghai, 19 August 2020.

At the same time, MSC has continued the suspension of its Panda service, saying that the structural blanking of the service will be maintained until the end of the year.
The second-largest shipping company said it will continue to serve South China via Hong Kong with its Wallaby service, the rotation of which remains unchanged: Yokohama – Osaka – Busan – Qingdao – Shanghai – Ningbo – Hong Kong – Sydney – Melbourne – Brisbane – Hong Kong
“Meanwhile, to enable customers to continue to place bookings with limited disruption to cargo flow from South China and other South China ports of loading, not mentioned above, we offer alternative routings with transhipment (via Singapore) to/from our Capricorn and Kiwi services,” MSC added.
