MSC, permanent and direct call at Northport

MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company is pleased to announce a new, year-round service to improve access to international markets for New Zealand’s Northland exporters and importers.

Following a highly successful seasonal port call at Northport earlier this year, MSC decided to make the call at Northport a fixed part of MSC’s ‘Kiwi Express’ schedule on a fortnightly basis.

Steve Wright, General Manager of MSC New Zealand, said: “We are delighted to add Northport as a year-round call on the Kiwi Express. It is a noticeable and important inclusion for all exporters and importers in the Northland region, as they now have direct access to all international markets for their cargo. MSC has always been a strong supporter of regional New Zealand and this year-round call further enhances this reputation.”

MSC is the only shipping line offering a dedicated liner service from Northport directly connecting the Northland region to the world’s major import and export markets via MSC’s global network.

Steve Wright continued: “Our focus is on providing the highest standards of reliability and stability, in which our customers can continue to have great confidence. MSC continues to ensure that shippers in New Zealand have access to both the global coverage of our intercontinental ocean-liner network and the dedicated local expertise of our customer-facing staff in New Zealand.”

It is expected that local exporters and importers will be able to make significant cost savings to their supply chain with this Northport offering by MSC.
