MSC pushes up rates to American ports

Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) has announced the implementation of new Freight All Kinds (FAK) rate increases from 1 January 2022 for shipments destined to the US and the Caribbean.

More specifically, the Swiss/Italian carrier will impose a FAK rate increase for cargoes travelling from the Israeli port of Haifa to New York and Caucedo. The increase will be US$2,600 per 20′, and US$3,850 per 40′ and HC standard container.

All prices are in US$.

Moreover, MSC will raise its FAK rates for 20′, 40′ and high cube (HC) dry containers that will be transferred from the Italian ports of La Spezia and Genova to New York, Long Beach and Caucedo.

The increase of US$500 per 20′ and US$1,000 per 40′, which will form the new prices as follows, will not be valid beyond 31 January 2022.
