MSC stops New Wallaby service, revises Panda service

Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) has announced the ceasing of the New Wallaby service and the revision of the Panda service.

The Geneva-headquartered shipping line will stop operating the New Wallaby service, connecting China with Japan and Australia.

The last sailing southbound will be on the 17th week, with the 2014-built Christa Schulte departing Qingdao on 29 April, on its voyage 216S. As for the last northbound call in Sydney, it is scheduled for 22 May with the same vessel, on voyage 220N.

In addition, MSC will revise the rotation for the Panda service which connects China, Japan and Australia, by adding a port call in the Chinese port of Qingdao.

The global ocean carrier said in a statement that it will be operating the updated service “on a stand-alone basis.”

For the current rotation, the last call southbound will be the JPO Aquarius on voyage KQ217A in Shanghai, while the last call northbound from Melbourne is scheduled for 20 May (voyage KQ219R) on the same vessel.
