MSC strengthens Asia-Mexico service network

Swiss/Italian container line MSC is launching a new shuttle service, Dhalia, to provide additional capacity for Asia to Mexico West Coast routes.

According to the company’s statement, this new service will provide customers with a premium loop rotation serving South China to Mexico trade as well as additional network coverage and frequency between Asia and Mexico.

Dhalia joins MSC’s existing Andes, Aztec, Inca, Mexicas and Santana services to create a strong network connecting South America and Asia.

The Dhalia service full port rotation is Shekou (China) – Xiamen (China) – Shanghai (China) – Busan (South Korea) – Manzanillo (Mexico) – Lazaro Cardenas (Mexico).

Panama-flagged container ship MSC Floriana will be deployed on the first sailing on 3 August 2024 from the port of Shekou.

“The addition of Dhalia to our Asia to Mexico trade will see us modify our existing Mexicas service with an additional call at Tianjin Xingang to ensure operational synergies,” pointed out MSC.

In order to optimise its service network, MSC will modify the port rotation of Mexicas service, as follows:

Tianjin Xingang (China) – Qingdao (China) – Ningbo (China) – Busan (South Korea) – Manzanillo (Mexico) – Lazaro Cardenas (Mexico)

The first sailing of the updated Mexicas service will be with the MSC Ines, which will depart the port of Tianjin Xingang on 3 August.
