MSC vessel loses around 45 containers

Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre reported container loss from the 4,738 TEU boxship MSC Shristi approximately 350 nautical miles east of Bermuda.

The Liberian-flagged vessel seems to have lost around 45 empty containers, which fell overboard due to bad weather.

Maritime Bulletin has reported that according to track and AIS data, the loss of the containers occurred during 1-2 March, when MSC Shristi was sailing from the port of Boston in the United States to the port of Caucedo in Dominican Republic.

The 2005-built vessel seems to have made attempts to avoid further losses during the incident.

MSC Shristi arrived at the port of Caucedo on 5 March and left the port the next day sailing to Türkiye.
