Navis to support Ports America

Navis, a part of Cargotec Corporation and provider of operational technologies and services that unlock greater performance and efficiency for the world’s leading organizations across the shipping supply chain, on Oct. 3 announced that Ports America has implemented N4 at its 47 acre Napoleon Container Terminal in New Orleans, Louisiana. Ports America selected Navis as part of its goal to better service its customers and to remain on the cutting edge of terminal technology innovation.

Over the last five years, container volumes have continued to increase through Napoleon Container Terminal, proving the need for continued technology transformation and adoption at the terminal. With a current annual TEU of 350,000, Napoleon Container Terminal has implemented several technological upgrades including N4 and its VoyagerTrack appointment system to better meet the demands of its customers, including truckers, carriers and shippers. Additionally, the Ports America Gatehouse Complex and Terminal uses the latest Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) systems at its sites. Putting technology first allows Napoleon Container Terminal to remain competitive in the space while creating new terminal efficiencies and a safer work environment for its employees as operations continue to scale.
