India’s Nhava Sheva Freeport Container Terminal, a joint venture of CMA Terminals and J.M. Baxi, in which Hapag-Lloyd is a 40% shareholder, has received two new ship-to-shore gantry cranes from Chinese port equipment manufacturer HHMC.
The new cranes have an outreach of 62 metres (22 containers), while three additional machines are already in the pipeline.
The new equipment is part of an upgrade programme that will lift the capacity of the 680-metre quay line to 1.8 million TEUs.
