New milestones for UTLC ERA

On 25th October, 2018 United Transport and Logistics Company – Eurasian Rail Alliance (UTLC ERA) sent its 2,500th train from the beginning of 2018. Consisting of 41 forty-foot containers loaded with Volvo Crossover cars, the container train from Xian to Malaszewicze, following the baseline route of UTLC ERA, was reloaded on 29th October from a gauge of 1435 mm to 1520 mm at Dostyk station and covered the distance from Dostyk to Brest in 6 days.

According to Alexey Grom, the president of United Transport and Logistics Company – Eurasian Rail Alliance, the 1000th and 2000th trains have become key indicators characterizing the growth rate of transportation load and its geography. In 2017, a total of 2 102 trains were transported. In 2018, the 1000th train was sent by UTLC ERA on 23rd of June, while in 2017 and 2016, the mark of the 1000th train was reached in August in Brest and in December in Dostyk, respectively.

By the first 9 months of 2018, the total volume of freight traffic of UTLC ERA reached a record high of 186 000 TEUs. In September 2018, UTLC ERA transported 28 853 TEUs, while in September 2017, this figure was 16.4 thousand TEUs. In September 2018, 26.9 thousand TEUs were sent along the base corridor Dostyk – Brest. For the entire 2017, the company’s transportation volume amounted to 175.8 thousand TEUs, and for 2016 – 101 000 TEUs.
