Anders Svensson will be the new boss of the Finnish port equipment manufacturer Konecranes and will take over his duties at the latest on 7 December 2022.
Anders Svensson has decided to join Konecranes from the Swedish multinational engineering company Sandvik, where he is currently president of the Sandvik Rock Processing Solutions Business Area. Prior to his current role, he has held various leadership positions within Sandvik since 2008.

He has a convincing track-record of delivering profitable growth and experience of working globally. With his results-driven and engaging approach, strong customer focus and people skills, he is well equipped to lead Konecranes,” commented Christoph Vitzthum, the chairman of Konecranes’ board of directors.
The Konecranes board initiated an international search process for a new president and CEO in March after the planned merger with Cargotec was cancelled.

Until Anders Svensson joins the company, Konecranes chief financial officer Teo Ottola will continue to act as the interim CEO.
