Chairman of the Egyptian National Railway Authority Ashraf Raslan announced on Monday (Oct. 15) that the authority will conduct travels to transport containers through cargo trains for the first time from Ain Sokhna port to Al Roubiki station at the 10th of Ramadan city.
As part of the TRA’s plan to maximize the role of rail transport during the upcoming stage to develop the authority’s revenues through the optimal utilization of the cargo fleets, the first container-loaded train began on Tuesday, 0ct. 16, complementing the recent increased railway transport activity.
Raslan added that the target during the upcoming phase is to expand the opening of new exchange stations for the transfer of containers between seaports to serve industrial areas not connected to the railway.
