The Northwest Seaport Alliance (NWSA), a marine cargo operating partnership of the ports of Seattle and Tacoma in the United States, has announced an increase of 13.8% in its July container volumes, compared with the same month last year, handling 307,593TEU.
NWSA reported that its full imports grew 21.5%, while full exports decreased 13.6%, reflecting trends in other major west coast gateways.
At the same time, year-to-date (YTD) volumes improved 18.2% to 2,167,766TEU, with full imports growing 29.6% and full exports declining 11.5%.
Additionally, domestic volumes grew 8.8%, compared to YTD 2020 figures, while Alaska volumes saw a 5.6% increase while Hawaii volumes grew 23.9%.
