NYK Group Europe appoints new president and CEO

Svein Steimler, the current president and CEO of NYK Group Europe, will retire on 31 March 2023, and will afterward join the company as a special advisor.

Carl-Johan Hagman will succeed Steimler as president and CEO of NYK Group Europe.

“I promise to do my best to contribute to the company’s continued success in its vital mission of helping cargo owners transition to sustainable, resilient and even more efficient supply chains,” said Carl-Johan Hagman commenting on his appointment.

Hagman is a Swedish citizen and in 1994, he was appointed as executive vice president of marketing and sales in Asia and head of Korea at Wallenius Lines AB. In 2001, he became president and CEO of Wallenius Lines AB in Sweden.

One year later, he moved to Eukor Car Carriers to take over the role of president, chairman and CEO of the company.

In 2007, he was appointed as chairman and CEO of Rederi AB Transatlantic in Sweden, in 2008, he had the same position at Höegh Autoliners AS in Norway and three years later he was the chief executive officer of Stena Rederi AB in Sweden.
