DP World has signed an agreement with Oasis Group to establish a new distribution hub of 10,123.9 m2 at its port-centric logistics park at London Gateway.
The warehouse will be taken on a long-term lease by Oasis Group which provides information management services to clients across the United Kingdom and Europe.
Work for the new facility will begin in the spring and is scheduled to be completed by October next year.
Like all other warehouses at London Gateway, the Oasis Group distribution hub will be built to BREEAM ratings, the world’s leading sustainability standard for building construction.
“We are delighted to welcome Oasis Group to our port-centric logistics park at London Gateway which is home to supply chain solutions, high-quality warehousing and light manufacturing,” said Ernst Schulze, UK Chief Executive of DP World.
“We believe in the UK market and have the ambition and the resources to boost growth, support businesses, create jobs and improve living standards,” argued Schulze.
In addition, Conan Wade, Group Property and Facilities Director at Oasis Group, commented, “taking this new facility at DP World’s London Gateway Logistics Park is an excellent opportunity to expand our information management business, whilst supporting our ambitious environmental goals.”
This investment constitutes the latest of a series of major steps forward for London Gateway and it is one of the UK’s largest privately funded infrastructure projects in the last 30 years.
A large number of potential customers have expressed interest in the new facility since its freeport status was announced earlier in March, according to DP World. In June, DHL started construction of the largest warehouse to date on the park of London Gateway.
