ONE launches direct India-South Carolina service

Ocean Network Express (ONE) has launched a new weekly ship service establishing a direct link between India and South Carolina Ports.

The inaugural voyage of ONE’s West India North America (WIN) service arrived at the Port of Charleston with the ONE Modern docking at Wando Welch Terminal on 26 June.

The WIN service bridges India’s West Coast with the US East Coast, serving as a crucial route for shippers. India has emerged as a significant global producer and exporter of various goods, including electronics, food products, clothing, and retail items.

This new service offers a direct route to US consumers, particularly in the thriving Southeast region, providing shippers with a more efficient alternative compared to the US West Coast.

“ONE’s decision to bring its new WIN service to Charleston reinforces the competitiveness of our port market, and we are thrilled to support their growth. Our strategic location in the Southeast provides access to a growing consumer base, and our highly productive operations will support the success of this new service,” stated Barbara Melvin, CEO and president of SC Ports.

SC Ports provides five weekly services to India, including the newly launched WIN service. Ranked as the eighth largest container port in the United States, SC Ports ensures dependable port operations and effective rail connections to expedite goods to market.
