ONE surpasses US$4.2 billion annual profit amid expanding container vessel fleet

Ocean Network Express (ONE) has reported exceptional financial results for the fiscal year ending 31 March 2025, marking a period of significant growth across all key performance indicators.

The Singapore-based shipping company recorded a staggering 336% year-on-year increase in net profit, reaching over US$4.2 billion. At the same time, earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) surged by an impressive 871%, hitting US$3.8 billion.

Additionally, the company’s revenue climbed 32% to surpass US$19.2 billion, while EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization) rose 192% to US$5.9 billion, reflecting robust operational performance.

ONE said its container volumes also saw steady growth, increasing by 6% to 12.75 million TEUs, underlining strong demand and improved efficiency across its global network.

“Considering the prevailing geopolitical landscape and the significant economic instability introduced by recent tariff developments in April, forecasting a precise full-year profit figure for FY2025 presents considerable challenges,” said ONE in its statement.

Therefore, the company has set its baseline FY2025 full-year profit after tax forecast in the range of US$250 million to US$1.1 billion.

Jeremy Nixon, CEO of ONE, stated: “We are pleased to report a profit of $4,244 million for FY2024—an achievement realized despite ongoing geopolitical tensions and regional economic uncertainties. Through our participation in the newly established Premier Alliance, launched in February, along with various other service partnerships, we have further expanded our global network and enhanced our service offerings to better meet customers’ evolving needs. We remain fully committed to delivering strong, reliable, and highly dependable end-to-end direct port container services to our valued customers.”

ONE now ranks as the sixth-largest container shipping company globally, with a total fleet capacity exceeding 2 million TEUs.
