Part of Felixstowe terminal collapses

Part of terminal 6 at the Port of Felixstowe, the United Kingdom’s busiest container port, collapsed on 10 April, according to the following tweet from Heavy Lift HQ, while the port’s engineering consultants are still investigating the cause.

At the time of the accident, dredging operations were underway at the box terminal, which will enable Berth 6 of the Port of Felixstowe to handle ultra large container vessels.

According to the tweet from Heavy Lift HQ, port operations will face a period of disruption until the damages have been fixed.
