PIL donates around US$1.4 million to community and charitable causes in Singapore

Pacific International Lines (PIL), on the occasion of its 55th anniversary, is committing US$1.4 million (S$2 million) in financial contributions to community and charitable causes in Singapore.

The donations were handed to the representatives of four organisations that received financial help, Chinese Development Assistance Council (CDAC), Singapore Indian Development Association (SINDA), Yayasan Mendaki (Mendaki) and Eurasian Association (EA), by S.S. Teo, executive chairman of PIL, at the company’s 55th Anniversary Community Donation Ceremony on 17 October.

Edwin Tong, minister for culture, community and youth, & second minister for law, was the guest of honour at the ceremony.

S.S Teo commented, “This is our first significant community contribution to Singapore since PIL returned to financial health last year. We are grateful for the strong support which Singapore has given to PIL, which has enabled us to ride through the most challenging time in our history in the last few years.”
