PIL introduces new service connecting UAE with Iraq

Pacific International Lines (PIL) is set to launch a new weekly feeder service connecting Jebel Ali in the UAE to Umm Qasr in Iraq.

This service, named the Iraq Feeder Service (IQF), aims to bolster the company’s coverage and connectivity within the Middle East region and is designed to complement PIL’s primary Middle East offering, the Gulf China Service (GCS).

As a specialized feeder service, the IQF is expected to enhance regional connectivity and strengthen links between the Middle East and PIL’s broader global network.

The inaugural voyage of the IQF service is scheduled to depart the port of Jebel Ali on 15 November with PIL’s vessel Kota Handal.

“We are launching the IQF service to broaden and deepen PIL’s presence in the Middle East, as well as capitalise on the growth potential of the region. This also demonstrates our commitment to putting our customers first by pushing boundaries to meet the needs of our customers worldwide for more comprehensive coverage in the Middle East,” stated William Ho, General Manager of Long Haul Trade, Line Management at PIL.

The service rotation will be Jebel Ali (UAE) – Umm Qasr (Iraq)– Jebel Ali and will have a weekly frequency.

PIL noted that its vessels will need two days to reach Umm Qasr from Jebel Ali.
