PIL and Unifeeder remove Karachi from Red Sea Gulf service

Pacific International Lines (PIL) has announced that its weekly Red Sea Gulf Service (RGS), which is jointly operated by Unifeeder, connecting India, the Red Sea and Middle East Gulf regions, will stop calling at Karachi Port.

Effective from 16 April 2022, RGS will therefore connect directly Mundra with Jebel Ali.

Particularly, the port call rotation of the revised RGS service will be:

Mundra (India) – Jebel Ali (United Arab Emirates) – Djibouti (Djibouti) – Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) – Berbera (Somalia) – Mundra (India)

RGS will continue to be offered by a consortium of vessels with an average capacity of 1,400 TEU, jointly by PIL and Unifeeder, according to a statement.

With the change, PIL aims to offer faster transit time between Mundra, Jebel Ali, Djibouti, Jeddah and Berbera, with an estimated round trip of 21 days.
