In November 2024, the Pilbara Ports Authority reported a total monthly throughput of 67 million tonnes (Mt), reflecting a 9% increase compared to November 2023.

The Port of Port Hedland handled 49.3 Mt, with 48.8 Mt of that being iron ore exports, marking an 8% increase over the same month last year. Imports through the Port of Port Hedland totalled 168,216 tonnes, translating to a decrease of 9% compared to the same month last year.

Additionally, the Port of Dampier recorded a total throughput of 15.2 Mt, representing a 3% rise from November 2023, while imports at Dampier reached 144,939 tonnes, an increase of 6% from the previous year.

Throughput fluctuations are influenced by various factors, including market conditions, port maintenance schedules, and the specific requirements of port users, said Pilbara Ports Authority in a statement.
