Pipavav Shipyard resumes operations

India’s largest shipbuilding facility in Pipavav is anticipated to resume operations following the resolution of its bankruptcy issues.

The shipbuilding yard will now be led by Swan Energy and has appointed former Damen Shipyards executive, Carsten Schumacher, as its new chief operating officer.

Pipavav Shipyard will get to work on a repair job for the Indian Coast Guard, and is in talks for a contract to build a series of bulk carriers for an overseas ship owning company.
