Port of Buenos Aires seeks logistics innovations

Representing the Ministry of Transportation, the General Administration of Ports SE – Puerto Buenos Aires participated in various meetings with the Ministry of Production, Modernization, Customs Argentina, Argentine Naval Prefecture (PNA) to work on the implementation of the new Port Community System with a view to at 2019.

During the past week, the Port of Buenos Aires convened various public and private organizations that have an influence on the port logistics process in order to boost the interoperability of their systems in the first prototype of a Port Community System in our country, known globally as Port Community System and that may be extended to all ports in the country through the Single Window of Foreign Trade (VUCE). The National Transportation Regulatory Commission (CNRT), the Customs Dispatch Center (CDA), the VUCE, Customs, Operators of the Port Terminals, Productivity Simplification, Navigation Center and PNA participated in the meetings.

This integrated port system, which will be launched in 2019, consists of the unification of systems of all public and private organizations that intervene in the port logistics chain and will allow greater control of entry and exit to the port, as well as agility in the ports. physical logistic processes thanks to the technology that includes the entire process of entry and exit of ships, trucks and trains together with the logistics chain of cargo inside the port.

During the exchange with the main actors of the sector, the different functionalities of the integration of the systems were shown, which results in a clear benefit for the port community, decreasing costs, times and accompanying the initiative of the National Government of debureaucratization and departation of procedures. and administrative processes.
