Port of Le Port remains closed – Operations affected

The Port of Le Port, La Réunion is closed since November 20, 2018 due to national strike.

“This event constitutes a Force Majeure situation, which by nature is beyond our control, and forces Hapag-Lloyd to select alternative routing for cargo intended for discharge in La Réunion”, HL said in its press release.

The cargo will be discharged at the port of Port Louis, Mauritius. You have the option of taking delivery of the cargo at either: (i) Port Louis, Mauritius or (ii) the originally anticipated port of discharge. Please note that all additional costs, risks and liabilities related to the storage or movement of the cargo after discharge in Port Louis, Mauritius will be for the account of the cargo.

The operational costs for the shipment from Port Louis, Mauritius to Le Port, La Réunion will be as follows:

USD 465/ 20’ Standard and USD 865/ 40’ Standard
USD 850/ 20’ Reefer and USD 1250/ 40’ Reefer
USD 50/ TEU “IMO” Surcharge for Dangerous Goods
