Monthly record for Port of NY & NJ

The Port of New York and New Jersey achieved a monthly record for June.  Total volume for June 2018 was 625,366 TEUs (357,382 lifts) versus 584,606 TEUs (335,702 lifts) in June 2017, a 7.0% increase.  Import loads (TEUs) were up by 5.2% in June 2018 vs. June 2017 and export loads (TEUs) increased 6.0% in June 2018 vs. June 2017. Export empties increased 11% totaling 183,809 TEUs in June 2018 versus 165,585 TEUs in June 2017.

Rail volume increased 7.9% from the previous year’s June figure, totaling 54,706 containers for June 2018. This is the fourth consecutive month of rail volume above 50,000 containers. Rail volume, January through June 2018, is 15% greater than in the same period of 2017.

We moved 40,531 autos through the Port of New York and New Jersey in June, an increase of 3.0% when compared against June 2017. Auto volume, January through June 2018, is 6.2% greater than in the same period of 2017.
