Port of Ashdod unveils maritime technology hub

On 11 December, the Ashdod Port Company launched its maritime technology hub, specializing in supply chain advancements.

Supported by Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the inauguration event hosted economic attachés from over 40 countries, including the United States, France, Japan, China, and India, to showcase innovative startups operating at the port. The government has authorized investments of up to US$55 million in startups, with US$3 million already invested across five companies.

The hub highlights the Israeli port’s commitment to technology, having supported 100 startups since 2021 in areas like operations, logistics, cybersecurity, and safety. Some of these technologies have already been integrated into the Port of Ashdod and international locations like Barcelona, Spain and New Jersey, US.

The event introduced the following startups: Makalu Optics, TREEDIS, FLYZ Robotics, Spinframe and Salvador Technologies.

Israel’s Minister of Regional Cooperation and Companies Authority Supervisor Dudi Amsalem stated: “Investing in advanced technologies, such as those developed by Israeli startups, is critical to the success of the Port of Ashdod and to improving the competitiveness of the entire Israeli economy. I am certain that the Technology hub will become a substantial center of knowledge and innovation, and help the Port of Ashdod continue to develop as a leading and advanced port, while strengthening Israel’s position as a global technological power.”
