Port of Corpus Christi appoints new Chief Financial Officer

Cindy Bertolami has been named the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Port of Corpus Christi, succeeding Kent Britton, who took on the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in September.

Having served as the director of Finance for four years at the Port of Corpus Christi, Bertolami brings over two decades of financial leadership experience to her new position. She has been serving as the Interim CFO since September.

As CFO, Bertolami will oversee the Port’s Real Estate, Information Technology, Finance, Accounting, Procurement, and Risk Management departments.

“I am honoured to serve as Chief Financial Officer for the Port of Corpus Christi. I look forward to working alongside our executive leadership team and staff, as well as supporting our strong and expanding customer base, to ensure continued success in the future,” stated Cindy Bertolami, Chief Financial Officer for the Port of Corpus Christi.

While serving as the Director of Finance, Bertolami undertook various responsibilities, such as overseeing the completion of the US port’s Annual Comprehensive Financial Report, enhancing efficiency in financial accounting processes, and acting as the project manager for transitions in timekeeping and financial software. Under Bertolami’s guidance, the Port of Corpus Christi consistently earned the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada, maintaining this recognition for 40 consecutive years.

“Cindy brings a wealth of knowledge to her new role as Chief Financial Officer that will benefit the Port of Corpus Christi team and our customers. I have no doubt she will not only continue this institution’s commitment to financial accountability and transparency but also continue the push to improve our internal processes and systems. We could not be prouder to have Cindy take on this leadership role for our organization,” said Kent Britton, CEO of Port of Corpus Christi.
