Port of Long Beach hosts trucker access event

The Port of Long Beach (POLB) will host the “Help for Truckers Days” event from 14-16 December, which will allow truckers to come for Clean Truck Program registration, Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) enrollment, radiofrequency ID tags (RFID) and sign-ups for the new Truck Alert traffic notification system.

The four-in-one event will also be hosted in conjunction with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and the identity certification firm IDEMIA, according to the US port’s announcement.

“Thanks to our partners at TSA and IDEMIA and our Terminal Access Center, we’re able to make it easier and faster for drivers and licensed motor carriers to get what they need,” pointed out Steven Neal, President of the Long Beach Board of Harbor Commissioners.

In addition, Port of Long Beach Executive Director, Mario Cordero, stressed, “We wanted to make it even more convenient for our drayage trucking community to obtain the documents they need to continue to move the cargo coming to the port complex.”

The event will be held from 8:30 to 16:30 p.m. and from 14 until 16 December at the Port of Long Beach Terminal Access Center, 1265 Harbor Avenue.
