In February, the Port of Los Angeles saw a significant surge in activity, handling 781,434 TEUs, marking a remarkable 60% increase from the same period last year.
This continues the trend of consecutive monthly growth, marking the seventh straight month of such volume increase at the busiest port in the United States.
The LA port saw a substantial rise in loaded imports, reaching 408,764 TEUs, reflecting a robust 64% increase from the previous year. Loaded exports also experienced significant growth, standing at 132,755 TEUs, marking a 61% increase compared to last year. Moreover, Los Angeles port empty containers reached 239,916 TEUs, indicating a notable surge of 54% over 2023.
The cumulative figures for the first two months of 2024 portray a remarkable performance, with the Californian port handling a total of 1,637,086 TEUs, which marks a substantial 35% increase over the corresponding period in 2023.
