Dina Aryan-Zahlan, a senior Port of Los Angeles engineer and infrastructure development expert, has been appointed as the port’s deputy executive director of development.
Dina Aryan-Zahlan will replace Antonio Gioiello, who retired earlier this year.
“Dina is an inspiring leader and dedicated public servant who consistently demonstrates an unwavering commitment to excellence,” stated Gene Seroka, Port of Los Angeles executive director.
He further added, “Dina’s promotion is a testament to her hard work, innovative ideas and ability to drive positive change in advancing the Port’s development initiatives.”
Aryan-Zahlan will be in charge of roughly 450 employees throughout the Construction, Construction and Maintenance, and Engineering Divisions. These Divisions are in charge of administering all Port construction contracts, as well as the continuous maintenance of Harbor Department buildings and infrastructure, as well as the design, engineering, and planning of all Port facilities that support the Port complex’s diversified operations.
Moreover, Aryan-Zahlan has been involved in transforming cargo terminals, transportation modifications, and LA Waterfront development projects throughout her tenure at the Port of Los Angeles. Over the last two decades, she has directed over US$3 billion in infrastructure upgrades.
