Port of Santos sets monthly traffic record in March

Santos Port Authority (SPA) reported that the total flow of cargo reached 15.3 million tons in March, which is slightly improved compared with the figures in the same month last year, achieving the best monthly performance in its history.

“The result obtained demonstrates that the Port continues on the path of increasing efficiency and productivity, consolidating its vocation as the largest port complex in Latin America, strengthening job creation and economic development for the region and the country,” highlighted the interim CEO of SPA, Marcus Mingoni.

Additionally, the number of ships berthed at the Port of Santos during the previous month reached a total of 484, representing an 8% increase over March 2022.

Director of Operations at SPA, Marcelo Ribeiro, commented, “The historic mark reflects the planning undertaken by the company in recent years, which covers in a coordinated manner the necessary advances for the sustainable development of the Port, with projects such as the contract for the new Internal Railroad of Porto de Santos (Fips).”
