Port of Trelleborg proceeds with expansion project

Nearly 50,000 m² have now been paved by Skanska in the new eastern section of the Port of Trelleborg. This asphalting project is part of the European Union (EU) initiative, “Rail-IT,” which is co-financed by the Union.

Alongside the paving, numerous pine trees have been planted to enhance the area with a greener and more pleasant atmosphere for its customers and travellers.

According to the Swedish port’s statement, the Port of Trelleborg is a year ahead of schedule in its relocation and expansion initiatives. However, some asphalting remains for the new areas in the port. The first of three phases is now complete, and the entire project is expected to be finished by the summer of 2025.
